Scrap your Guestbook

After the inquisitive nature of Cara from Sweet Tomato Designs, who was inspired by Sweet Blossom Designs, I wondered if you could scrap your Guestbook. The answer is YES! Would you like to create a guestbook where your friends and visitors can upload layouts they've made from your kits? Or friends and family could share their latest photos and digiscrap pages with you? Here's how:

Step 1 – Scrap your frame
Scrap a 6 x 4 inch (300 dpi) or a 6 x 6 inch frame and then RESIZE to 96 dpi. When you resize the dpi, you need to also adjust the frame size back to 6 x 4 or 6 x 6 if necessary. If you want elements to “overhang” the photo slide show, you should create a PNG image, or a Quick Page (QP).

Step 2 - Make a Slide Guestbook
1. Go to Slide.com and join.
2. Add your name (or blog name) photo (or scrap page) location and greeting.
3. Customize your design.
Styles – I chose sliding because with my scrapped frame I wanted you to be able
to see the pictures.
Skins – Scroll down to the bottom and click, “Make your own.” If you do not see this as an option, click "View More," and you should then see this choice. This is where you will upload your own frame that you made in Step 1. Make sure you move the red frame bar slightly over the “overhangs” of your frame. The Guestbook will actually be behind your frame. You can continue to customize your slide as you like.

Step 3 - Get the Code
When you finish customizing your Guestbook, you hit SAVE. Then Guestbook will give you a choice of what type of code you would like. You will select BLOGGER (or whatever blog site pertains to you). Then Guestbook will give you the code. Copy the code.

Step 4 - Add the Code
You will add your Guestbook as a separate element (gadget). To install the Guestbook as an element on your page, you will need to go to CUSTOMIZE/LAYOUT/PAGE ELEMENT/ADD A GADGET. When the pop up screen appears, select HTML/Java Script. Add your Guestbook code and click save. Then view your blog.

Here's to more happy scrapping, and
